Blowing in the wind – Afghanistan 2009

The 2009 election in Afghanistan was held amidst insecurity, outright war in Helmand province, allegations of fraud, intimidation and ballot stuffing, and cost over $300 million. Most of the population still live in abject poverty and women struggle with unhappy marriages and domestic violence.
